Where has this month gone?? I was just realizing that I hadn't posted all month long so I better do a June post. Then I realized that it's almost JULY. Crazy!
The first week of June I took six middle school mission trippers (all boys) on a mission trip to the CROSS program in Charlotte, North Carolina. We had a GREAT time and they were an awesome group. I didn't even mind that it was all boys! The experience at CROSS was phenomenal - it was urban ministry - we went to two sites each day.
I had about a week "off" (I was working, but not out of town!) and then we had VBS. It was a really successful week, too. Lots of kids excited to be on a "rainforest adventure" for the week. That was a super fun theme, and the decorations were awesome!!
This past week, I took a group of senior highs on a lake trip for three days. We went to a family-owned marina (the daughter is in youth group), stayed in their hotel, hung out on their houseboat, and took their speedboat out for tubing and wakeboarding. It was such a fun week. :)
I'm going to visit a friend from college tonight. We live a little over three hours apart, so we're meeting halfway and we'll spend the night and hang out!
Then next Sunday (the 6th), I leave with my senior highs on our mission trip to Alabama! We're all excited for that!!
Summer definitely picks up in the life of a youth director. :)
